What Aftercare Is Required Following Microblading?
Proper Aftercare is essential to ensure optimal healing and long-lasting results after Microblading. Immediately following the procedure, clients should avoid getting the brows wet for at least seven days to prevent pigment loss and reduce the risk of infection. This includes avoiding swimming, steam rooms, saunas, intense workouts, and any activity that causes excessive sweating around the brow area. Clients should also avoid applying makeup, skincare products, or exfoliants directly on the brows during the healing phase, as these can irritate the skin and affect pigment retention.
It’s important to keep the area clean and dry, using only gentle cleansing methods and healing balms recommended by the technician. Avoid picking, rubbing, or scratching any scabs or peeling skin, as this can lead to scarring and uneven pigment results. Sun protection is vital both during and after healing, as UV exposure can cause the pigment to fade prematurely and alter its color. Many technicians advise using sunscreen on the brows once healed or wearing hats to shield the area from direct sunlight. Follow-up touch-up appointments, usually scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after the initial session, help perfect the results, reinforce pigment, and address any fading or unevenness observed after the first round of healing.
