Where Can I Get a DOT Physical Done?
Most doctors can provide a DOT (Department of Transportation) physical, but the doctor must be familiar with the guidelines of the examination, and the doctor must be FMCSA certified. Not all doctors are FMCSA certified. Some are certified and would be able to provide a DOT physical, but not necessarily as quickly as you might like. For instance, if the doctor isn't available for a week or so, you'd have to schedule a visit for then. This isn't convenient for people who require a DOT physical for work, like with a new job. For these people, it can be much more convenient to have a DOT physical done at an urgent care clinic.
