How Are Hormone Pellets Placed?

The pellets are placed in the subcutaneous layer of tissue in a short office procedure that is painless and takes less than 5 minutes. Patients are first numbed using a quick acting local anesthesia injection and then the pellets are seamlessly placed with no discomfort. The incision made to place pellets is closed with small bandages called “steri strips” and water proof bandage to be left on for a few days.
