What Disorders Can an MRI Detect?

MRIs can provide an accurate image of the soft tissues, organs, and bones, allowing for the detection of a wide variety of health conditions through visualizing abnormalities, injuries, infections, and inflammation within much of the body. One of the most common disorders that are detected through MRI images includes tumors, such as brain tumors, spinal cord tumors, breast cancer, uterine cancer, and prostate cancer, as well as injuries or diseases of the ligaments, joints, internal organs, and spinal cord. Healthcare providers will also use MRI scans to detect abnormalities or anomalies associated with younger patients, as well as traumatic injuries to the brain, causes of headaches, and other health conditions.
