How Is Teeth Bonding Different from Veneers?

While both teeth bonding and veneers are used to improve the appearance of the Teeth, they differ in terms of procedure, longevity, and cost. Teeth bonding involves the application of a tooth-colored resin to the surface of the tooth, which is then shaped and hardened. It is a non-invasive procedure that does not require significant removal of the tooth’s natural structure, making it an ideal choice for minor imperfections. In contrast, veneers are thin shells of porcelain or composite material that are custom-made to fit over the front surface of the teeth. This requires some removal of the natural tooth enamel for a better fit.

Veneers are generally more durable and long-lasting than bonding, with a lifespan of 10-15 years or more, whereas bonding may last between 5 to 10 years. Additionally, veneers are more resistant to staining and are considered a more premium cosmetic option. However, veneers are more expensive and require multiple visits to complete, while bonding can typically be completed in a single session at a lower cost. Both options are effective, but the choice depends on the extent of the cosmetic issue and the patient’s budget and preferences.
