Physician Assistant
Our boutique urgent care center is currently seeking an experienced Full-Time Urgent Care Physician Assistant to join our dynamic and energetic team. We offer a comprehensive range of urgent care services.
Responsibilities And Duties:
- Conduct physical exams and assessments of patients with urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical conditions.
- Select, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Analyze reports and findings of tests to diagnose patients, seeking consultation with supervising physicians when necessary.
- Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and injury, collaborating with supervising physicians.
- Refer patients to primary care physicians or specialists when appropriate.
- Document notes in the EMR system, prepare reports, maintain records, and handle related correspondence.
- Proficiency in IV placement is preferred.
Ensure clinical practice compliance with Managed Care/HMO, Federal and State guidelines, facility guidelines, the Department of Health, and other governmental agencies.
Qualifications:
- Current license to practice medicine in New York State.
- Preferably two years of clinical experience in an urgent care setting, emergency room, or family practice office.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible.
- DEA license with no restrictions.
License:
- NYS NP (Required)
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of medical coding.
- Familiarity with the principles and practice of urgent care medicine.
- Understanding of occupational health medicine principles and practices.
Skills:
- Proficiency in common PC applications, including Internet, Email, Microsoft Office, and EMR software.
- Strong ability to interact effectively with patients, medical staff, administrative staff, and the public.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective prioritization and time management skills.
- Strong ability to plan, organize, delegate, and supervise.
