What Are the Aftercare Instructions for Lash Enhancement?

Lash Enhancement is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo that subtly defines the lash line by placing pigment between the lashes. This treatment enhances the eyes' natural appearance without looking overly dramatic. It’s ideal for those seeking a fuller lash look without daily makeup. Results typically last 1–3 years with proper care and occasional touch-ups. Few aftercare instructions for lash enhancement are:

- Do not pick, rub or peel off your scabs, to avoid bald spots, scars, or infection (itching is normal as skin is repairing itself).

- Keep the treated area clean and dry (use a clean towel or tissue to dry it), avoid environments that would cause dirt or germs to contact the area while healing.

- Wash daily with a light touch to remove bacteria, build-up of product and oils, and dead skin, use gentle soap (Dial, Cetaphil, Neutrogena), dry with a clean tissue.

- Do not expose the treated area to sun or tanning bed (3-4 weeks after procedure).

- It is recommended to not sweat and exercise after the procedure for a week.

- Keep your hair away from your face.

- No makeup on the treated area for 7-14 days.

- Do not use mascara until outer healing is complete.

- Avoid sleeping on your face, use a fresh pillowcase.

- Avoid face-down swimming in pool, sea, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 7-10 days.

- Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.

- Do not wear contact lenses at least 24 hours.

- Have sunglasses available.

- Do not dye, perm, or use an eyelash curler for 2 weeks.

- Eyes will be puffy and swollen for a few days.

- Eyes may feel dry or irritated.

- No eyelashes serums or growth stimulation, those products might cause pigment migration.

Picking or pulling off skin that is not ready to come off will cause pigment loss and can pull out deeper tissue.

Do not use decorative cosmetics on the treated area for 10-14 days.

Is Permanent Eyeliner Safe for Eye Conditions and Contact Lens Wearers?

Permanent Eyeliner is generally Safe for individuals with mild eye conditions or those who wear contact Lenses, but it does require extra precautions and professional consideration. Before the procedure, clients should disclose any pre-existing eye issues such as dry eye, blepharitis, or seasonal allergies, as these may increase the risk of irritation or delayed healing. Contact lenses should always be removed before treatment and should not be worn during the initial healing period to avoid discomfort or potential infection. People with more serious or chronic eye conditions should consult an ophthalmologist before undergoing the procedure to ensure it’s appropriate for their situation.

During Healing, the eyelid area is more sensitive and contact lens wearers may notice temporary dryness, itching or increased light sensitivity. Adhering to proper aftercare - such as avoiding makeup, eye rubbing, swimming, or exposure to dust - can help minimize complications. Using sterile eye drops as recommended and keeping the area clean and moisturized supports optimal recovery. Choosing a technician trained in working with sensitive eyes and contact lens users ensures a safer, more comfortable experience. With appropriate care and communication, most individuals can undergo permanent eyeliner safely and successfully.
