There are lots of reasons why your child may have a headache, such as:

• Dehydration.
• Hunger.
• Lack of sleep.
• Tight head and neck muscles.
• Hormone changes.
• Menstrual cycle.
• Genetic predisposition.
• Certain medications or overuse of medications.

Causes of secondary headaches may include things like:

• Illness (cold, flu, etc.).
• Infection (ear infection, meningitis, etc.).
• Head injury.
• Neck injury.
• Arachnoid cysts.
• Hydrocephalus.
• Seizure disorders.
• Tumors.
