What Is Microneedling with PRP?

Microneedling just on its own is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that uses a roller with small needles to gently prick the surface of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin production, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin. Microneedling can be easily combined with a variety of other cosmetic treatments, particularly those that include topical serums or products since they will be more easily absorbed and thus more effective when applied during a microneedling session. PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a great option to combine with microneedling, allowing for the results provided by microneedling to be much more effective. The treatment itself will start with microneedling, immediately following with the blood being drawn that will be placed into a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood to be then applied to the freshly treated skin.
