Dr. Kelly, before his well-earned retirement, was my primary care physician for nearly eight
years, and was the best physician I’d ever seen in my life. He was knowledgeable, willing to have
interesting discussions not even necessarily medically related, and he was generous with his
time. Never did I feel rushed, unheard, or uncomfortable in his presence, which is a rare and
seemingly vanishing quality in patient care these days. So, when I heard about his retirement, I was concerned that I’d never find another physician like him—then I was put under the care of
Nurse Practitioner Sherry Barker!
Under the care of Sherry, I have had my medical knowledge of myself expanded even beyond
what I thought was possible with the qualities that made Dr. Kelly great but has been echoed in
spades with Shery. She is attentive, patient, understanding, and has helped me with not only a
positive perspective on my diagnosis but a continued hope for the future of progressive self-care
management not only with my diabetes but with my mental health as well! I feel both fortunate
and privileged to under Sherry’s care and would recommend her to all who are currently
struggling on being heard, understood, and taken seriously in their medical needs!
