I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Lie at Bay Area Foot and Ankle Associates. I have always been pretty physically active, but at the age of 64 I took up the sport of dog agility, and am trying to do some serious running for the first time in my life. Besides not being as fast as I would like, I started having pain in my knees and heels. Dr. Lie booked an appointment for me when he knew he'd have plenty of time to do a video gait analysis and go over the results with me. He gave me lots of specific information about how to run more effectively and with less stress on my knees and Achilles tendons--in fact, he had even watched a video of dog agility handlers in order to know more about the type of running and turning that's involved in the sport! He also gave me exercises and resources for increasing the strength and flexibility in specific parts of my legs based on my gait analysis, and offered follow up care as needed. Dr. Lie impressed me as a topnotch podiatrist and running coach who takes an individualized approach to his patients, and is committed to helping them achieve good health and fitness.
